Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • Paneer or cottage cheese cut into 1cm x 1cm x 1/2 cm pieces 150 grams


  • Bengal gram flour 4 tablespoon


  • Rice Flour 1 tablespoon


  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon


  • Salt 1 teaspoon


  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon


  • Baking powder 1/4 teaspoon


  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon


  • Coriander leaves 2 tablespoon


  • Mint leaves 10-12


  • Green chillies 2


  • Sugar 1/2 teaspoon


  • Water 1/2 cup


  • Black salt 1/4 teaspoon


  • Refined oil for frying 250 ml

Directions

  • To make batter: shift together gram flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, baking powder, salt into a bowl.
  • Gradually add water, sitring continuously to make a smooth batter.
  • Keep aside for 20 minutes.
  • To make chutney: in a chutney jar add lemon juice, coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies, salt, 1 tbsp water and make a smooth paste.
  • Spread 1/4 teaspoon chutney between 2 pieces of paneer.
  • Assemble remaining paneer pieces in the same way.
  • Heat oil in pan on high heat. Deep 5 assembled pieces in batter to coat.
  • Add one after the other to hot oil and reduce heat to medium.
  • Fry till golden brown.
  • Remove and drain.
  • Fry remaining assembled pieces in the same way.
  • Spread black salt over it and serve hot with hot and sweet tomato sauce.
